Mark Psaila’s long-running Holden HR Premier project has returned in a more extreme form, according to a new report by Street Machine. The car, known as STOCK6, first gained attention around the turn of the century when Psaila shifted it from a factory-style cruiser into a tougher pro-street build.

The latest version represents another major step in the car’s evolution. Street Machine describes the revived STOCK6 as a “big-tyre” combination aimed at serious straight-line performance, now powered by a turbocharged Toyota 2JZ engine.

From stock-style to pro-street roots

The feature outlines how Psaila’s HR Premier began life as a relatively stock, comfort-oriented classic. Around the early 2000s, it was rebuilt into a more aggressive pro-street package, reflecting the style and performance priorities that were popular at the time.

That earlier approach focused on turning a clean classic into something that looked and behaved like a street-and-strip machine, while still retaining the identity of the HR Premier platform.

STOCK6 returns with a new direction

In its current form, STOCK6 is presented as a significantly more drag-oriented build than its earlier iterations. The switch to a big-tyre configuration highlights a focus on traction and the ability to put down power effectively.

At the centre of the update is the adoption of a turbocharged 2JZ engine, an inline-six powerplant widely used in high-performance builds. Street Machine characterises the result as a “turbo 2JZ rocket,” signalling a substantial jump in performance intent compared with the car’s earlier pro-street stage.

Performance build spotlight

The report positions the car as an example of how long-term projects can evolve over multiple phases, shaped by changing trends and goals. While STOCK6 started as a stock-like classic and later became a pro-street toughie, it has now been reintroduced with a setup designed for harder acceleration and higher output.

The Street Machine feature focuses on the transformation journey and the headline mechanical shift to turbo 2JZ power paired with a big-tyre layout, presenting the revived HR Premier as a modernised performance build built on a classic base.
